Images of Spring! The Winter Is Ending!

We've been blessed with wonderful spring weather the past three days. Warm sunshine, blue sky, a cool breeze...the grass is starting to turn green again, buds are popping on our roses, the birds are singing, bulbs are blooming, and Tucker and Tanner are back on the deck catching a few rays.

This is one of our local Cardinals in our front tree. He was singing his lungs out when I snapped this picture.

New Microphone, New Video

When I entered my office at MMS this morning and sat down, I found myself in a pixel frame of mind and started throwing video clips together like a mad man. That led me to get my nifty new Audio-Technica AT2020, cardioide condeser, USB-powered microphone out of its box, set it up, and hook it into my computer. With that, and my handy-dandy "pop" filter, I embarked on a new video narration career.

I think you'll notice a difference from my last narration attempt (since removed from the blog and replaced to with a "re-mixed" version utilizing the new microphone). Oh man, it's like night and day using this mic as opposed to the previous mic. It pays to have the right tool for the job.

Anyway, I was a bit "out of the box" with my thinking as I worked with the clips and ended up scripting a rather non-traditional narration scheme.



I really like the microphone. It's totally easy to use and sounds great. What do you think?

The Sky Is Blue And The Sun Is Out!

After Thursday/Friday's latest "winter storm warning, watch, advisory" rain, and snow and localized flooding, it's kind of nice to see some blue sky and feel the sun again. It's windy, but we'll take a little wind to help dry things out. The local river levels are dropping and damage wasn't much beyond some closed roads in outlying areas. We're getting closer to the beginning of spring and everyone's more than ready for the season change.

While things around 368 McClain are pretty much the same, this morning was a little different in that it's newsletter time again. We're spending the day getting our March Coshocton Flyer ready to mail. Be watching for your copy in a mail box near you. And, as it's Saturday, Karen was in the kitchen baking away. This morning it was oatmeal, raisin, and pecan muffins...Oh Yeah...

And a few minutes later, removes the muffins from the oven.
